The Pancha Bhoota Stalam or Pancha Bhoota Stala refers to the five Shiva temples dedicated to Shiva, each representing the manifestation of the five prime elements of nature- land, water, air, sky, fire. Pancha indicates Five, Bhoota means elements and Stala means place. All these temples are located in South India with four of these temples in Tamil Nadu and one in present-day Andhra Pradesh. The five elements are believed to be enshrined in the five lingams and each of the lingams representing Shiva in the temple have five distinct names based on the elements they represent.

Day 1: ARRIVE CHENNAI BY: FLIGHT/TRAIN CHENNAI – KANCHIPURAM [By: Surface-Approx.80Km/03Hrs]
Our driver will meet you in the arrival area of the airport after you clear all immigration and custom formalities. On arrival an orientation tour of Chennai city. Later drive to Kanchipuram. On arrival check in at the hotel (Standard check in at 1400Hrs. Early check in is subject to availability). Relax and freshen up. Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 02: KANCHIPURAM – CHIDAMBARAM [By Surface: Approx.200Km/4.5Hrs]
In the early morning, visit to Ekambareshwar temple. Legend has it that once Parvati was doing tapas under the temple’s ancient Mango Tree. In order to test her devotion Lord Shiva sent fire on her. Goddess Parvati prayed to her brother, Lord Vishnu, for help. In order to save her, he took the Moon from Lord Shiva’s head and showed the rays which then cooled down the tree as well as Parvati. After that, Lord Shiva again sent the river Ganga to disrupt Parvati’s tapas. Parvati devi prayed to Ganga and convinced her that both of them were sisters and so should not harm her. And so Ganga did not disturb her penance after that. Then Parvati made a Shiva Linga out of sand and got united with Lord Shiva. Here you darshan Prithivi Lingam.

Today you will proceed to Chidambaram. On arrival check in at the hotel (Standard check in at 1400Hrs. Early check in is subject to availability). Relax and freshen up.
In the afternoon visit to Pichavaram the second largest Mangrove forest in the world, near the temple town of Chidambaram, is one of the unique Eco-tourism spots in South India. The backwaters, inter connected by the Vellar and Coleroon river systems, offer abundant scope for water sports, rowing, Kayak and canoeing. Drift along the waterways in a boat and take photographs. (Subject to water availability).
Evening at Leisure. Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 03: CHIDAMBARAM – THANJAVUR – TRICHY [BY SURFACE: Approx. 130 Kms / 4 Hrs]
n the early morning visit to Thillai Nataraja Temple. The story of Chidambaram begins with the legend of Lord Shiva strolling into the Thillai Vanam (Vanam meaning forest and thillai trees – botanical name Exocoeria agallocha, a species of mangrove trees – which currently grows in the Pichavaram wetlands near Chidambaram. The temple sculptures depicting the Thillai trees date back to the 2nd century CE). Here you darshan Aagaya Lingam (Akasha Lingam)].
Later drive to Thanjavur to visit Late afternoon proceed to visit the Thanjavur Palace most of which is in ruins housing the Tamil University Museum, the Art Gallery, the Saraswati Mahal Library which houses palm leaf & paper manuscripts. Then to Brihadeeshwara Temple, built in the 10th century by Raja Chola. It is considered to be artistically the most perfect of Dravida temples.
Continue your drive to Trichy. Upon arrival check-in at hotel.
In the evening optional visit Srirangam Temple. Srirangam is the foremost of the eight selfmanifested shrines (Swayam Vyakta Kshetras) of Lord Vishnu. It is also considered the first, foremost and the most important of the 108 main Vishnu temples (Divyadesams). This temple is also known as Thiruvaranga Tirupati, Periyakoil, Bhoologa Vaikundam, and sand Bhogamandabam.

Day 04: TRICHY – TIRUVANNAMALAI [BY SURFACE: Approx. 185 Kms / 4 Hrs]
Early breakfast is at Hotel. Visit to The Jambukeshwar temple which is in Tiruvanaikava. The shiva linga here signifies the element water. This ancient temple is dedicated to Shiva and Parvati. Lord Shiva is worshipped here as Jambukeshwar and goddess Parvati is worshipped here as Akhilandeshwari. Here you darshan Appulinga.
After the visit drive to Thiruvannamalai.
On arrival check in at the hotel. Later optional visit to Sathanur Dam, Thiruvannamalai.
Rest of the day at leisure.Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 05: TIRUVANNAMALAI – TIRUPATI [BY SURFACE: Approx. 210 Kms / 4.5 Hrs]
In the early morning visit to The Annamalaiyar temple which is in the town of Tiruvannamalai in the state of Tamil Nadu. The shiva linga here represents the element fire. It is believed that Lord Shiva appeared here in his ardhanarishwar form to bless his devotees. Here you darshan Agni Linga.
Shiva is known by devotees as Annamalayar or Arunachaleswarar. And this is believed to be the largest temple in the world dedicated to Shiva. The history of this Annamalayar temple dates back to thousand years. Mention has been made in the Thevaram and Thiruvasagam, both great works in Tamil.
Later back to the hotel for breakfast. Continue drive to Tirupathy.
Tirupati is a city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Its Sri Venkateswara Temple sits atop one of the 7 peaks of Tirumala Hills, attracting scores of Hindu pilgrims. Sri Venkateswara National Park, home to the temple, also contains the Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park with lions and primates.
In the afternoon optional visit Sri Venkateswara Temple. The Temple is dedicated to Lord Sri Venkateswara, an incarnation of Vishnu, who is believed to have appeared here to save mankind from trials and troubles of Kali Yuga. Hence the place has also got the name Kaliyuga Vaikuntham and Lord here is referred to as Kaliyuga Prathyaksha Daivam.

Day 06: TIRUPATI – CHENNAI [BY SURFACE: Approx. 180 Kms / 4.5 Hrs] DEPART CHENNAI BY: FLIGHT/TRAIN
In the early morning drive to Srikalahasti Temple. The fourth temple is Srikalahasti temple which is situated in Chitoor district of the state of Andhra Pradesh. The shivalinga here represents the element air. Lord Shiva is worshipped here as Srikalahastishwar and goddess Parvati is worshipped here as Gnanaprasunambika. The temple is also regarded as Rahu-Ketu kshetra and Dakshina Kasi. The inner temple was constructed around 5th century and the outer temple was constructed in the 12th century by the Chola kings and the Vijayanagara kings. Lord Shiva in his aspect as Vayu is worshiped as Kalahasteeswara. Here you darshan Vayu Lingam.
Later continue your drive to Chennai to board your train/flight back home !!
